Surprisingly good for the price

These honestly blew me away. These perform amazing even with no IR on and its almost unreal that These are digital. My biggest gripe is the usability of the binoc mount with helmet. Its very hard to work with and I still havent gotten it to fit right but even as a monoc the unit works amazing

It is an awesome nvg for the price! I had a small issue but was able to fix it real quick.

Got my NVG-30s and helmet setup from Good Nite Gear, and I have to say — these guys know what they’re doing. The quality is legit. Everything came in fast, packed right, and works like a charm. Night vision is crisp, clear, and exactly what I needed for my training setup.

Customer service? Solid. They’re quick to answer questions and actually care if you’re satisfied. Rare these days.

Wore the helmet and goggles outside and I swear I felt like I unlocked a stealth perk in real life. Neighbors probably think I’m prepping for something big… they’re not wrong 😎

Very High Resolution and Good Light+ IR Sensitivity

The best resolution (total # of pixels) in the display screen I've seen in any digital or analog (I have a few Gen 3s also). Unlike almost all other NV stuff that has an electronic 'ON' switch, this does not drain the battery in a few weeks or months while left 'OFF'. At about 33 microamps of 'OFF' current, it would take about 8 years sitting in a shelf to drain the battery. The 940 nanometer illuminator is far enough into the IR that at this wavelenght, a Gen 3 GaAs tube is about as sensitive as the NV 30, although the NV 30 has longer lag time.
CON: The eyepiece optic is not very good. It's quite wide, but if your eye is off center there's lots of coma (blur). I've got 2 of the NV 30s, and I made a black disk with a 1/4" hole in the center to place over the eyepiece of each. This corrects the problem. Note that this correction does not reduce the light sensitivity, because it does not affect the front (objective) lens. It only restricts where you place your eye relative to the eyepiece.
OVERALL: I prefer this over a Gen 3 unless very fast response is needed. It's lighter weight, much higher res, with a 1x-4x digital zoom that's actually useful, and it can see in color (and do video recording, which I don't use).
