There’s two great budget friendly options on the market right now for those of you looking to get into high quality digital night vision and you don't have to spend thousands of dollars and still have the ability to see in the dark and both of these options are available for less than $300. The NVG10 has dominated the low end of the digital night vision monocular market for the past year and the (Amazon Affiliate Link) Nightfox Prowl is the first ever digital night vision monocular from night fox and they both are going to give you excellent performance in low light environments as you can see from this footage here but the Prowl is going to be better suited for close quarters situations because it has a wider field of view but the NVG10 definitely outperforms at mid to long range and is going to help you detect and observe much better at distance so its the obvious choice for outdoor applications. There was some noticeable lag with the Nightfoxes Prowl Monocular which is the biggest reason I'd hesitate to recommend it!
