Unboxed and attempted to attach dovetail mount to nvg30. Hand tightened screws for the dovetail to the mounting plate on the nvg30. It was still loose, but i didnt want to over tighten the screws and after jigglying the mount in confusion as to why the 3 screw retainers/holders plus plate came off. Second picture of holes is after i pushed the mount plate back on and pulled it off easily for a 2nd time in disbelief. This setup is not for anything special, so i used the tiniest, smallest, itty bitty amount of JB weld in the mount holes of the nvg and pressed the unit back together again. Just have to keep in mind this is a cheaper night vision option for simple watch and observe applications; it’s not, drop on the ground and test its durability for war, nightvision. Unit works fine just cant take the dovetail off now, not that I see a need to ever do that.
I’d actually give this unit 4.5 stars, for no other reason, than this thing is screaming for a functional app. Other than that, I am very impressed with this monocular. It really is the groundbreaker, for excellent quality, digital night vision. I run mine in WP, with icons off, for an uncluttered screen. Kyle, by the way, is the epitome of customer service. I am so happy to see GNG expanding their offerings to customers
